Trail Running Tips

Trail Running Tip #2 - Remember to pick your feet up.
This is to avoid tripping over roots, rocks, and other fallen runners. It may seem obvious to lift your feet, but it can be easy to forget this, especially at the end of a long run when you are fatigued.

Trail Running Tip #37 - The sensation of blood running down your shin is a helpful reminder to lift your feet.
If you don't have blood running down your shin, try tripping over a root.

  1. Nice. Rub some vitamin E oil on it.

How many pairs of Trail Gloves do you own?

    1. I am embarrassed to say. But it is less than 5.
Those are the new "Wide" version, and today was their maiden voyage. Not a good debut.
I plan on posting a review because there is something unexpected about them.

    2. Embarrassed because less than five is too many or too few?

Can't wait for the review! I've been wanting to compare the Trail Gloves to the Road Gloves. And, I can't decide whether to try the wide versions or the regular versions. And, I need to read a review, because I can't be bothered to go all the way to REI, or Raleigh Running Outfitters, or Great Outdoor Provision, or um, wherever else they are carried in this area. I mean, I got jobs man! ;-)

    3. Did you order the wides, or is a local shop carrying them? I'm very curious about those....

    4. had to order them. and send them back to exchange them. The wides are not just wider, but longer. The size 11.5 wide was actually LONGER than the size 12 regular. Ended up with a size 10.5. annoying.

    5. That's exactly what I discovered about the New Balance Trail Zero's. In the 4E width I had to go down a full size to get the length close to right. Yes, annoying.

    6. Scott! You just made Anthony disclose the unexpected thing about the wide versions right here. Now he won't write a funny review! Ugh!

    7. Sorry! I'm sure there must be something else besides the length annoyance. Maybe they come with a suture kit or something. ;-)

  2. This is great. If you haven't tripped over a root you probably aren't trail running. I had a similar incident last summer. Also I can't wait for your trail glove review. I haven't been to sure of the wide version so it will be good to know what you think.
